nCHILDREN'S CARNIVAL VILLAGE - 2008  This project provides families and children an opportunity to participate in our annual Fourth of July Celebration in a safe and drug-free environment with educational and cultural activities, games, food, arts & crafts, all at affordable price.  This project is run by volunteers and is funded with private and corporate contributions.   Call Lonnie Willis at 693-8590 to contribute either your time or funds.

nDIAL-A-RIDE ~ This transportation service provides for the senior, disabled, and visitors of  the for St. John community with funding from United Way and the V. I. Department of Human Services.  Presently, Dean Thomas, Sr. is our driver.

nCIVIC AND CULTURAL CENTER ~  On December 4, 2004, Robert Jackson of Reliance Housing Foundation  presented to the St. John Community Foundation a deed for two and one half acres of land on Gifft Hill for a planned Civic and Cultural Center.  The Center property will also be home to a a park and botanical gardens, an amphitheatre, and a historical interpretive exhibit.  Anyone who would like to contribute, please call Lonnie Willis at (340) 693-8590.

nNIGHT OUT  ~   Each year, the Foundation partners with organizations in the community including the Department of Public Safety and the Myra Keating Smith Clinic to protest crime on one night in August, and at the same time, offer a fun-filled evening for the community.

nST. JOHN GLASS RECYCLING FORUM ~ This project establishes a dialogue between environmentally concerned citizens and potential partners to create recycling projects.  The most recent is the establishment of a glass recycling center and architectural glass studio at the Gifft Hill School.  Funding is from the Anti Litter and Beautification Commission, the EPA, Friends of the Park, and private individuals.

nAMBULANCE  FUND  ~   Several years ago, the late Horst Petzell purchased an ambulance through the Foundation for the St. John Community.  He also included funds which would maintain that ambulance.  We continue to dispense these funds to keep the ambulance in good condition.

nENVIRONMENTAL FUND ~  Individual donations have, from time to time, generated money to pay for Earth Day events and other environmental activities.

nGOVERNMENT FORUMS~ During election years, the Foundation often holds Senatorial, Gubernatorial, and informational forums for the people of St. John. Candidates and Commissioners get to answer questions contributed by people in the community.

nENDOWMENT FUND ~ Starting in 1989, participating members of the St. John Accommodations Council pledged to collect $1.00 per room night from their guests to help fund mini-grants for the community, and to fund an endowment for the St. John Community Foundation.  Their guests contributions have generated more than $150,000 for the mini-grant program and for our Endowment.

nJAVON ALFRED SCHOLARSHIP FUND ~ This fund honors Javon Alfred, a young boy who was tragically killed in a traffic accident.  The money raised will be awarded to a St. John student who wishes to pursue a vocational education.  Please mark all contributions "For Javon Alfred Scholarship."
