St. John Youth Committee Essay Contest

Posted by Celia Kalasek on June 25, 2010 at 12:20 PM

This summer the youth committee has plans to launch the territory-wide “We Pledge Our Love to Thee” Essay Writing Campaign. As a group we acknowledge that the ability for the youth to creatively express themselves is not just a fixed need of St. John youth, but of all V.I. youth- and human beings at that. We launch this campaign to encourage not only Virign Islands youth, but also adults to convey their own love for their homeland and what it means for them to be a Virgin Islander. In these essays we hope to see not only the way residents of the Virgin Islands view their land but also some of the aspirations and solutions that individuals hold for their territory.
