About the St. John Film Society

Posted by Celia Kalasek on June 25, 2010 at 12:04 PM

Our mission is to inspire a positive appreciation for the history, culture and environment of our US Virgin Islands by establishing a free monthly film series open to and for the benefit of our local community. We present independent films that celebrate the human spirit with a focus on the Caribbean.

The St John Film Society is a group of local filmmakers and film enthusiasts, all volunteers, who have joined together for the purpose of exposing St John audiences of all ages to film and filmmakers from throughout the Caribbean and beyond. Our focus is on independent films that feature Caribbean-related cultures and issues. The society is not-for-profit and operates under the financial umbrella of the St John Community Foundation.
